Unboring History - Fridays, 3:00-4:00 pm (Beginning October 9, 2026)
Who remembers thinking history was nothing more than memorizing dates and dead presidents?
My name is Taylor Reid, and I am almost 16 years old. This year, we are erasing that narrative. Through interactive lessons, relevant examples, and meaningful activities to tackle hard truths with sensitivity and respect, I will show tweens ages 9-12 the true history of America - the UNBORING version.
We will especially focus on the experiences of marginalized peoples, without memorizing dates! We will study current events and use analysis and critical thinking to explore how the past connects to the present.
We will meet in-person from September through December. After a winter break, we will meet online until March to avoid having to travel in yucky weather.
