Mondays, 10:00 am - 1:30 pm - Middle School/High School Homeschoolers (November 13 - December 18, 2023)
Students will become aware of the way they communicate with other. We will work at eliminating filler words and emphasizing the message being shared. Speeches will be prepared, as well as confident responses to "table topic" questions. Learning the techniques of creating and communicating an effective story will make for outstanding public speaking.
When Nature Marc from the Closter Nature Center visits Tutor's Link, we can promise a brilliant experience. Come explore climate concerns and environmental phenomena through observation and personal experiences.
Using a large demonstration chessboard, students will better understand various topics including tactics, strategy, and the nuances of positional understanding. There will be ample time to play casual games with each other with focused assistance from the instructor. We will learn the basics and delve into more complex topics for all students who demonstrate interest and aptitude.
15 minute supervised breaks will follow the 10:00 am, 11:15 am and 12:30 pm classes, with time for children to play in the fenced-in backyard, eat snacks and socialize.
Optional time to eat and chat with friends. We are happy to offer this time for FREE. An adult from each family must be present to ensure appropriate supervision.
10% Sibling Discounts Available. Please register 1 child and list the additional siblings in text box. A separate, discounted invoice will be sent.
