When students read books for enjoyment, they begin a life-long relationship with learning. Students will witness the joy of reading and learn the strategies that all great readers utilize. The workshop will help students “find the love” through read-alouds, strategy work, independent reading time, and cross-curricular connection activities.
Great readers become great writers, with attention to the way published authors share their voice. We will take our skills of storytelling onto paper with attention to sentence structure, tone and message.
Groups will be created based on reading/writing level, not age/grade.
