We will cover all area, including whole number and operations, multiplication and division facts, fractions and decimals, and measurement. Students will work individually and in teams using several problem-solving strategies.

One of the most important foundational skills to help us learn to read is phonics! We will learn a variety of letter sounds, vowel teams, and digraphs to help us learn the sounds that certain letters and letter combinations make. We will do this by playing games, completing sorts, and participating in a variety of activities!

This class will take us on an imaginary trip across the United States. Students will read, write, and complete projects to learn the geography of our nation. We will celebrate many historical figures and sightsee the landmarks along the way. Pack your bags and join us on our adventure!

Living Like an Author Age/skill: 8 - 10 years old

Real writing occurs in every experience and observation. Authors witness seed ideas growing at the turn of every corner. Students will be armed with their personal “writer’s notebook” and build strategies of an author. The focus will be on content FIRST – getting their ideas down on paper and later editing/proofreading for publication. Literature written by professional authors will be used as models of great writing across various genres.

Children who harbor a genuine passion for the game are invited to examine the different styles of play through grandmasters and world champions. We will learn the simple basics of how the pieces move, how to write chess notation, basic tactics and strategy, and terminology. We will look at opening, middle and endgame strategy and access what students could do to change the game.

Preschoolers are invited to come exert some energy at Tutor's Link. We will sing, dance, read and craft! Mamas are invited to stay or may drop-off their preschooler for a one-hour play-date! Each week will be based on a seasonal theme with connected crafts, games, and songs.
